Victoria & Metro Vancouver Teachers Workshop

Dear Victoria and Metro Vancouver Elementary Public School Teachers and Principals, we are pleased to offer the coding workshop specifically designed for elementary schools to teach kids coding and how to bring kids beyond the block-based coding languages. The workshop will introduce participants to coding in Python and how it can be introduced in their classroom as an ADST activity for students.

Using the teacher-friendly coding platform PixelPAD, participating teachers will go through a full coding-class together, and finish the workshop with their own app on the browser. A minimum of 5 participants are required for us to run a workshop.

These workshops are funded by the Government of Canada CanCODE program through FIRST Robotics Canada and are offered at no cost to schools.

After the workshop, all participants will be given a clear and detailed printed lesson guide and books that give teachers step by step instructions on how to offer this and other coding classes to their students.
PixelPAD is designed to be easily adopted by students of Grade 3 and up, but teachers of any grade are welcome to follow the workshop to learn about the features it provides.
Dates: Oct 15th to March 31st, 2020.
